  Psychology of Proverbs
One of the things about ancient text is the insights that have stood the test of time. While modern theories of human psychology can be interesting, the book of Proverbs offers a theory of people that is simple and useful.

Proverbs, one of the wisdom books of the Bible, identifies a number of different types of people. The main ones of these are:
the righteous,
the foolish,
the wicked,
the sluggard or slothful.

Proverbs goes into detail about each type. These details fall broadly into four categories:
attitudes,
inherent qualities,
forms of communication, and
results.

I will go into the details for each of the types in future posts. But this is one of the most useful tools for self knowledge yet. Ask yourself, what type of person am I? One who fears the Lord and seeks knowledge and wisdom above all else? Complacent and self-centered? Given to anger and deceit? Or possibly unmotivated and fearful of the outside world?
