Sword Dreams The sword is a very important symbol in the Old Testament, to people who largely lived and died by the sword. In the New Testament, the sword is one of the main items in the whole armor of God, enabling us to stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11). The sword is revealed as none other than the word of God in Ephesians 6:17: "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;"

Thus the actions of a sword in a dream relate to the actions of the word of God. To dream that you are wielding a sword, represents using the word of God to overcome and conquer obstacles. Alternatively, to be struck with a sword is to receive the word of God deeply into your life.
