It is now 26th November, and I gather no sign of the promised update from CSIRO. Perhaps Andrew Ash and Kevin Hennesy need a reminder of their commitment to give you a response.

is context related.

In politics it’s like a “non core promise”.

On Aeroflot, it’s like a safe landing at the right airport.

In Bali markets it’s like a “genuine Rolex” watch.

In law, it’s an “alibi with no witness”

In Life, it’s proceeding on the the expectation that “I’ll still respect you in the morning”

and so on.
