Your CSIRO critique gets a guernsey in the Oct edition of the NSW Law Society Journal as well.

Interesting, do you have any more information or a link? The October issue doesn’t seem to be on the web site yet.

The letter in the October edition, which is available online in November, is in response to an article in the September edition called “The law fiddles while the World Burns.”; no hyperbole in legal circles! The article is about, or features, a Dr Jane McAdam from UNSW, and Tim Bonyhandy from the Centre for Climate Change Law at ANU. Mr Bonyhandy is quoted as saying;

“It’s commonly accepted that there will be more extreme weather events – bushfires, droughts, cyclones, hailstorms – and if we are going to have more disasters, we’ve got to think how to prepare for and manage them, and how to deal with the aftermath. We need to think more about disaster law.”

The letter in response noted the similarity between Mr Bonyhandy’s comments and the wording in the CSIRO Exceptional Circumstances Report, and your name cropped up as a matter of course.

It might be no more than a coincidence, but we had an Alan Sullivan, barrister, represent us in a case before the High Court. I understand he was appointed QC not long after. His Chambers were in Sydney. Hello again if it is you and you need not fear stories about your younger days.
