Some stories these days send shivers down my spine, over the sheer magnitude of the changes going on in world finance. King Among Clowns is packed with great quotes, about the Congressional testimony of a unlikely anti-hero, with an unlikely name, Harry Markopolos.

He ran the numbers. They didn’t fit. He spoke out. See the pillars of power tremble at his words.

People tend to form life-long preferences about enterprised run by goverment versus regulated private enterprise. Time and again the weak link is the regulators. In the climate numbers field, accurate overview, like is happening with Niche Modeling and Climate Audit and WUWT, is emerging as a parallel to regulation and is proving more incisive, more able, less corrupt and most useful. Like Markopolos.
